The Mermaid Side Show.

For Stage, Festivals, Theatres, Events and Parties

The Mermaid Side Show is a unique, quirky old style Theatre Show. With a free-standing 'Tank', which is an Aerial Rig, she,... "survives a shark attack, falls in love and croons, 'I wanna marry a Lighthouse Keeper',... to her Sailor Love".
The Mermaid employs the services of children from the audience as her official "bubble blowers", sitting close to her the young stage hands are given Sailor hats, and bubble mixture and they become a part of the show.

The Sailor boy seemingly spawns her love, knowing she cannot leave her tank, he leaves her alone. She dances a sad slow balletic dance 'swimming', around her tank, using her unique aerial apparatus she appears to move as if under water, suspended, floating in her virtual 'Fish Tank', hanging off her arms, legs, feet and 'swimming', and balancing 'suspended in animation'.

But, her Sailor arrives back with a plan, and performing a contact juggling routine to show his devotion, he finally woos and weds his Mermaid, carrying her off to their 'Little White Lighthouse by the Bay',...

The Mermaid Side Show is reminiscent of the age of the roaring 20's belle, with her exotic sequined, shimmering Mermaid ball gown, she is an exotic remnant of another era, an age of damsels, a mechanical age of theatrical quirks, horse carriages, gentlemen, ladies, style, beauty and elegance,... a classical age of 'Object d'Art'.
