Physical Theatre and Circus Skills Training Courses for NSW Schools

NEW PROGRAM FROM

LEGS ON THE WALL

TRAINERS

Commencing January 2014

 ...

'Testimony'

As arranged, on Monday Kate Reid took an all day workshop here at Stella Maris. It was for us, a most refreshing experience. My students opened their eyes to new ways of thinking about performance, finding avenues to harness what was hiding inside them and releasing it. My class' expression of its discoveries is embryonic yet but the students came away from the day energised (slightly exhausted) and prepared to explore their physicality in performance in ways that had never occurred to them before. Imaginations are now much harder at work. Kate's work with them was commanding and nurturing and the commitment the students demonstrated was testament to her skills with young people and their respect for the depth and breadth of her knowledge.

As I seek to expose my students to as many influences as I can, these workshos are of particular significance. A fine day indeed. Please pass on to Kate our further thanks.
Regards, Geoff Cartwright / Stella Maris College

Introduction

A new venture in Physical Theatre and Circus Programs for all NSW Schools

This Program has been initiated by Kate Reid and Simone O’Brien (ex-Artistic Associate Legs on the Wall), both currently trainers with Legs on the Wall Theatre Company.

Both Kate Reid and Simone O’Brien have been instrumental in creating the Legs on the Wall Educational Program and both have been strategic trainers within this program for the last seven years.

Due to Legs on the Wall suspending their Educational Program for 2014, we feel it is important that such programs remain available to all schools and students and hence have created a new venture to fill the gap.

‘SHIFT’ is offering NEW Workshops and Programs for 2014, with, Basic to Advanced Training in Physical Theatre, and NEW courses in Circus Skills Training
